Through an unrivalled quality and logistics infrastructure, it has provided brewers with the finest products and services on the market for hundreds of years. Over the last decade BarthHaas and Simply Hops have watched an emergent Craft brewing culture develop in Europe. Starting as a small selection of innovative and flavour forward breweries, it has matured to become one of the driving factors of beer trends and the associated hop varieties that are in demand. In short, Craft now has the power to influence the hop market substantially.
“ARE WE PROVIDING FOR CRAFT BREWING AS WELL AS WE COULD BE?”
BarthHaas and Simply Hops need to answer the questions, “Are the existing systems and services still fit for purpose in such a fast moving and progressive craft industry? Do we need to do things differently? What do our customers want and need for the future?” To answer these, we inherently need help from those we are looking to serve. Working jointly with Simply Hops, the craft specialists in the BarthHaas group of companies, BarthHaas is undertaking a year-long review of their offerings. The project is to be a collaboration between BarthHaas and craft brewers around Europe. In craft brewing, “X” is used as a signifier of collaboration, and so this project has been named Project X.
BarthHaas and Simply Hops aim to give our collaborators greater transparency into the workings of our operation, much beyond what has been previously presented. In doing so, we hope to rebuild our craft offering from the ground up to deliver the best we can for craft brewing.
